Rover Company is a British carmaker. Rover brand is owned by Chinese company SAIC. Cars under this brand are not produced any more.

The first car under Rover brand appeared in 1889 and it was a simple crew with engine.

Rover Company was founded in 1887 by John Kemp and William Sutton Starla. The company started its operations from the production of bicycles.

In 1994 Rover was bought by BMW. New models were released – the 200-th and 400-th series. In late 1998 Rover 75 was produced.

The Rover 200 was codenamed R8 and was introduced to the market in 1989. This was the first car to be introduced by the newly privatised Rover Group PLC which was now under the wing of British Aerospace.Initially only available as a five door Hatchback in 1989, the Rover 400 quickly followed in early 1990. In 1992 the three door Hatchback and Cabriolet became available, with the Coupe following in 1993 and the Tourer in 1994. The Hatchback and Saloon ceased production in 1995, but the Cabriolet, Coupe and Tourer were produced until 1999.
